VICINITY project at “CITY CHALLENGE- crowdhackathon #smartcity” organised by KEDE

The Central Union of Municipalities in Greece (KEDE) organized the first Application Development Marathon on technological and operational innovation in the broader field of smart cities, called CITY CHALLENGE - crowdhackathon #smartcity. The conference was focused on technological and administrative innovation for smart cities where participants developed pilot services and applications solving problems that local authorities face. The scope was creative human capital to be mobilized, creativity and youth entrepreneurship to be strengthened. Also, the action was part of the effort of KEDE to keep scientists and entrepreneurs, especially the youngest ones, in Greece and address the «brain drain» phenomenon.

Conference Feedback

Guests and participants had the opportunity to visit municipality’s booth and to be informed about municipality’s smart applications and Projects, among them the VICINITY project. People were able to watch a short slide presentation about VICINITY (in Greek) and get more information from the VICINITY leaflets.
